The New Deal vs. The Raw Deal

The New Deal vs. The Raw Deal

The New Deal was a series of domestic programs enacted in the United States between 1933 and 1938, and a few that came later. They included both laws passed by Congress as well as presidential executive orders during the first term (1933–37) of President Franklin D. Roosevelt. The programs were in response to the Great Depression and focused on what historians refer to as the "3 Rs": Relief, Recovery, and Reform. That is Relief for the unemployed and poor; Recovery of the economy to normal levels; and Reform of the financial system to prevent a repeat depression. - Wikipedia

Let There Be Light

The RAW DEAL is happening now, and YOU have a part to play.  The painful truth has been exposed by many individuals, groups, and by the very source of OUR pain.  Yes, the Network of Global Corporate Control as identified by Karen Hudes, Attorney for the Global Debt Facility and World Bank Whistle-blower, will eventually lose the tug of war as shown in a power transition model. What's the BIG deal about the power transition model?

I know it all sounds GREEK to the layperson!

In this tug of war between the New Dealmakers and the Raw Deal shakers, Karen Hudes has taken the helm of this large boat on stormy seas because her position within the world bank allowed her to discover the corruption as well as bring the corruption into the light.  As stated in this Update on Bringing the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development into Compliance posted today. As a bondholder, she has the right to ask about the corruption, and as the world bank attorney, she has the power to form agreements with the appropriate parties involved for the benefit of the PEOPLE.

Why is that the case?  The reconstruction of monetary systems on a global scale is the role of the World Bank and could actually perform the "3Rs" that is Relief for the unemployed and poor; Recovery of the economy to normal levels; and Reform of the financial system to prevent a repeat depression.

The network of Corporate Control vs. the Coalition for the Rule of Law.

Turning about without capsizing.

The I DEAL is for everyone to share this information far and wide!  We need 20 percent of people in critical positions of power to move to the other side of the boat to prevent it from capsizing. I'm talking about the 80/20 rule which is a rough guide about normal distributions.
The Pareto Principle is the observation (not law) that most things in life are not distributed evenly. It can mean all of the following things:
  • 20% of the input creates 80% of the result
  • 20% of the workers produce 80% of the result
  • 20% of the customers create 80% of the revenue
  • 20% of the bugs cause 80% of the crashes
  • 20% of the features cause 80% of the usage
  • And on and on…
You are not carrying 100% of the load. However, you can be a part of this deal.  If we can reach 20% of those individuals in power positions with reason and maybe a little fear that we're on to the game, then a peaceful transition to the "3Rs" will be accomplished.  The monopoly game played in our country can stop if we the PEOPLE turn the tables on this situation.  If you haven't heard about this situation and are in disbelieve, then take a look at the constitutional changes that are allowed the Network of Corporate Control to exist.

COMMENTARY ON LAW IN AMERICA

COMMENTARY ON LAW IN AMERICA: A SHORT HISTORY
By Lawrence M. Friedman

This book published thirteen years ago, which covers two hundred and twenty-five years of jurisprudence and how it evolved in American Law is pertinent today as we look at the systems and organizations that rule our world.

Do we need ORGANS AND SYSTEMS TO RULE OVER US?  Or, should I say do we need ass holes "ruling" our world?
Google attorney and ass hole. You'll find many references to both these words.  Please don’t take offense lawyers who do an excellent job in keeping our societal body functioning?  However, you do know what I’m talking about and often call each other out with such language.

For a BODY to function properly, it needs organs and systems to work properly.

You could say America is currently constipated. Constipation is one of those topics we seldom discuss. If you've suffered from this problem, though, you know it can be both painful and frustrating.

Our situation in America is painful and frustrating, and this is why I want to share my thoughts on the Book Law in America.
Why is it the case that the newspapers are full of material about the legal system?  What makes law so central to American society?  Where does all this law come from? Is all of this emphasis on law and legal matters good for the country, or is it a sign of some deep-seated pathology?  What is American law, and how did it get this way?  These questions are the subject of this short book.  - L. M. Friedman
I'll be presenting a few highlights of the book along with some possible insights.  We'll start with Friedman's definition of law.
For now, I want to adopt a simple, but broad and workable definition.  Law is, above all, collective action, action through and by a government.  When I say 'the law,' I mean the legal system.  The legal system includes, first of all, a body of rules - the laws themselves.  Some of these are federal laws, enacted by Congress; some come from state legislatures, some are ordinances of city government.  ...The lawyers are a vital part of the system, just as teachers are essential to the educational system and doctors and nurse are essential to the medical system.  And 'the legal system' is the way all of these people and institutions interact with one another, and with the general public.  There are even broader ways of defining the law.  It can be looked at as a kind of process, which does not have to be connected with a 'government' at all.  Universities, factories, hospitals, big companies - these also often have a kind of 'legal system' quite internal, quite 'private.'  Law can, in other words, be official or unofficial; government or private.  ...All societies, in a sense, have a 'legal system.'  They all have rules and ways to enforce the rules.  The 'law' inside a family is usually not written down, and 'procedures' are pretty informal.  But big society needs formality; it cannot go on without formality - without rules, especially rules of law.  - L. M. Friedman

We have a definition.  So, let's look at the process closer and discover why our societal digestive system is not working as it should.  The obvious question to ask is what are you putting in your "mouth?"  What's going in our societal digestive system that causes symptoms of constipation?  Our youth don't think much about their bowel movements or what they are swallowing because it takes a few years to get backed up a bit.  However, there will come a day when this is all you are concerned with as you discover how much it affects your health.  I'm not talking about the quick fix of pushing a laxative in your rear; I am talking about control of your diet.

"...big companies - these also often have a kind of 'legal system' entirely internal, quite 'private."  I'll use Burger King as an example, but it is not the only CORPORATION with the slogan "Have it your way."

Wow, don't we all want to have it our way!  This juicy bit is really tasty in so many ways.  We'll move to the internal aspects of the typical corporation (not to single out one) and how that particular legal system operates.  Based on my observations of policies and procedures in a typical corporation when the time comes for raises, insurance policy changes or 401 K discussions, there appears to be a major campaign for employees to "have it their way" on some moral issue, dress code, or smokers vs. nonsmokers break times.  By chance does any of this sound familiar on a larger scale? Have you noticed the USA Corp using these same policies and procedures?  Being able to wear your massive, gaudy gold necklace at work doesn't seem as important when you need better health care, a real retirement fund, and extra money to keep up with (hidden) inflation.  This stuff is more like spicy food that makes your ass hole burn like an inferno.
"But big society needs formality; it cannot go on without formality - without rules, especially rules of law."  In simple, face-to-face societies, custom, habits, and tradition do most of the heavy lifting as far as enforcing the norms is concerned.  But in a complex society where the interactions between strangers are pervasive, a society where people buy food and clothes, instead of growing and making these themselves, a society made up of many different groups and many different ways of thinking, customs loses it bite, traditions give up their grip, and society comes to depend on other ways control whatever forces and objects and people the society want to control. This mechanism is what we call the law.  Social control still, of course, depends heavily on customs, habits, and traditions; and the law does not come out of nowhere - it builds on these customs, habits, and traditions; but it adds to them the bite and sting of collective rules and collective enforcement.  ...To begin with, our legal system is a common law system.  The common law is one of many families of legal systems in the world.  Legal systems are a little bit like languages in this regard.  French, Spanish, and Italian are Romance languages: they are independent languages, but they have a lot in common, mostly because they have a common ancestor.  Most of the legal systems of Europe belong to a single great family, often called the civil law family. ...The common law, therefore, became the basis of the legal system in all the English-speaking colonies.  In modern times, some non-Western countries have shopped around for a Western legal system, which would do a better job of catapulting them into the contemporary world than their indigenous systems.  Japan and Turkey are famous examples.  In every case, what was chosen was civil law, continental European law.  Why?  One answer is that these are codified systems.  Their basic rules take the form of codes-rationally arranged mega-statues, which set out the guts of the law, the essential concepts, and doctrines.  In theory, judges have no power to add or subtract from the law, which is entirely contained in the codes.  Their only task is to interpret these rules.  The core of the common law, on the other hand, was essentially created by the judges, as they decided actual cases.  ...There are many other differences, big ones, and little ones, between common law and civil law systems.  There are differences in procedures, in institutions, and in substantive rules.  On the whole, civil law systems lack a jury (the PEOPLE's VOICE), for example. - L. M. Friedman
Now that's a whopper to digest! Commercial Law  It is often considered to be a branch of civil law and deals with issues of both private law and public law.  Law is a product of society; and as society changes, so do its legal system. Today, you may hear people talk about bringing back the rule of law, or we'll be headed for the dark ages soon.

For those individuals tired of swallowing crap and fighting to stop the commercial courts from bleeding us to death with fines and fees, Kudos.  Sovereign citizens often challenge the courts to use the proper jurisdiction and follow the Constitution instead of USA Inc. Corporate policy.
..is that law expresses the distribution of power.  It takes social energy and force to make law, or to enforce the law, or to change the law.  The legal system of any society is a mirror that reflects, necessarily, the structure of power in that society.  ...Also, the legal order also expresses limits on power.  This is most obvious in the constitutional scheme - in the Bill of Rights. L.M. Friedman
 Natural Remedy For Hemorrhoids

Exercise your rights
Put healthy fibers in your system
Watch what you drink

If we make the legal system accountable, with our mouth, and bring back the good fibers, the proper jurisdiction in our courts, and stop drinking the (CORPORATION) Kool-aid, the stress of hemorrhoids on our legal system will take care of itself.

Do we need ORGANS AND SYSTEMS TO RULE OVER US?  Or, should I say do we need ass holes "ruling" our world?  It is not a matter of the ass hole ruling our world, but whether we protect our ass from all the symptoms of constipation.

War and Peace: Are the visions only in our dreams?

War and Peace:  Are the visions only in our dreams?

Tonight, I must perform guard duty, which means to protect my fellow soldiers from enemy attacks.  “Malone,” the call was made, and I must leave my cold hard cot for a foxhole.  The rest of the platoon settled in for the night.  Finally, I made it to the foxhole with a 50-caliber machine gun that sat in the center surrounded by sandbags built earlier that day.  Of course, I did not have real ammunition as this was only a training exercise, outside Fort Bliss, Texas, in a strategically selected spot.  Wow, I did not realize how cold it gets at night in Texas.  My cold-weather gear did not seem to keep me as warm as I thought it should.

Once positioned in the foxhole, I began stargazing.  This night was an excellent opportunity to take advantage of my favorite past time.  After spending several exhausting days of playing war games, I amazed myself with the energy I had so late at night. The sky appeared forbidding yet magnificent with billions of stars twinkling brilliantly. While attempting to locate some of the constellations among the blanket of stars something amazing happened.  A shooting star dashed in front of me!  Well, it was blasting through the sky at the main campsite where my comrades were asleep. The vast ocean of stars had a way of tricking my senses.  The distance between the shooting star and me might have been greater than I imagined.  Still, the shooting star was meant for me that night.

The cries from wild coyotes who seemed only a couple of sand dunes away made me wonder if they too noticed the shooting star.  Oh, the pack of wild coyotes could have caught the scent of a black-tailed jackrabbit.  I saw jackrabbits running over the dunes earlier in the day.  Like the coyotes, I too had a desire to cry out from a deep hunger into the silent night.  I was without proper nourishment for days, a forced fast if you will.  However, I refrained from shrieking out into the vast darkness. My attention changed to pain in my rear from sitting so long in one spot.  I was very aware of my place in the world at that moment.  I shifted around trying to get blood flow back into that region.  Suddenly, I noticed in my peripheral vision a creature with pinchers about five inches long moving closer to me.

On closer view, I realized it was a giant hairy scorpion known for its aggressive nature and painful sting.  My recent shuffling around in the foxhole apparently sent an unintended vibration out, and now the hairy desert scorpion’s crosshairs are set on me.  This notorious creature that wanders the desert has my undivided attention.  I lit a cigarette and pondered my situation as it moved in my direction.  It’s only 2:30 and I have several hours to go. However, this unexpected adrenaline boost will keep me wide awake throughout the remaining hours of guard duty.  Once the hairy scorpion reached the top of the berm, I decided to use the end of my M16 rifle to divert this menace to society in another direction.  Fortunately, it only took a few minutes of prodding and off it goes.

At this point, I couldn't help but drift into a meditative state.  Of course, it is like my regular meditation sessions, reoccurring thoughts of everything that happened that day, all the things I need to accomplish tomorrow, and a comprehensive awareness of all the aches and pains in my body.  As I stared into the mesmerizing space in front of me for several minutes, my thoughts faded away, and my pain subsided as a deeper level of consciousness took over my being.  Then, an overwhelming feeling of sorrow engulfed my heart.  This feeling was more intense than the woe of loss, disappointment or misfortune of which I already had my share.  This desolation carries the weight of the world. The feeling lingered for a while, and I started to imagine in my mind’s eye the scorpion.  Had I merged with the scorpion or was I the scorpion?  A small ugly creature that is all alone in the world carrying a poisonous, fearsome, and deadly reputation.  I can hear my name being called by my fellow soldiers (M) alone... (M) alone, as the echo fades into nothingness.

Can I ignore the poisonous venom inside me as reflected by the scorpion?  Is the Creator watching me move about in the desert of my making and politely directing me away until I grow beyond the lower elements within myself?  Have I lost hope for humanity?  At age twenty-four, in a place of desolation, I had to distinguish my fantasy world from what I perceived as reality.  I started to review my experience with the military.  Moreover, the military appeared to me as a microcosm of how our world operates.  Is division and fighting all we are capable of doing?  More importantly, I realized that I am the ugly creature and cannot separate myself from those lower aspects of my being.  Not confronting vices within my being has falsely urged me to face others as if they are the enemy.  I’m not acting out of fear, hatred, jealousy, or pride is what I tell myself consciously! I must have a war to find peace is the illusion created by this thinking.  Is this not a split personality?

I was compelled to fire up another cigarette.  The cigarette was to comfort my cold body and to bring me back to the foxhole. Yeah, I'm definitely outfoxed and in a bit of a hole here in the desert, on a cold night, and weary of battle. War games with a nonexisting enemy are undoubtedly what the whole world is unconsciously playing too. Why would anyone choose this experience?

There are many more exciting and pleasurable experiences to have in the world.  There are no atheists in foxholes!  My discomfort has forced me to look up.  I heard a gruff voice calling out “Malone,” “Malone,” “Malone your time is up!”  Am I hallucinating… Has God come for me now?  No, I see a silhouette of a human walking toward me slowly.  Preparing to leave my post was not an eloquent changing of the guard.  My replacement exclaims, “Sorry I took so long all the dunes look the same.”  I replied, “I hope I can make it to the tent before sunrise and wake-up call.”  Finally, I reached the camp site and my tent.  I moved slowly and carefully while peeling off my gear as my comrades slept.  The steel pot on my head was like cement and reminded me of how dense I've become.  I have a few hours before a new day starts.  Down I go.

My body melted into the hard bed, and I was dead to the world as my consciousness drifted deeper into the night.  In a REM state, I found myself wandering about in an unrecognizable place.  However, I did notice familiar faces passing by and in the background.  Maybe it was some gathering because I saw family, friends, and unknown characters doing ordinary activities.  There was a brightness from behind me that captured my attention.  As I turned to face the opposite direction, a human-like figure approached me and stated, “Follow me.”  “Don’t be afraid.”  The figure gently grabbed my arm and pulled me away from the gathering of people.  As I walked along, my first reaction was to turn back and look at those people left behind.  I said in a mumble, “what about them?”  I raised my voice, “what about the rest?”  The figure quietly replied, “Come. We must go.  You don’t need to worry about them.”  Without any more hesitation, I turned and walked forward with the bright figure.  To my surprise, instantly I was transported to another dimension.

I found myself inside a different room.  It is a room without a roof!  It has the framework of an average room, and there are fixtures inside as a standard room would have such as furniture. I could feel the balance between structure and expansiveness in the surroundings.

The view of the sky was breathtaking.  I noticed a cloud formation, that formed a hole like a torus in the heavens and wondered to myself is this how we transported to the room?  Yes, the brilliant figure answered, and with an approving tone.  When I looked back at the cloud formation it was gone and so was the figure.  Lured to the opening which had no door, I ventured outside to find a Garden of Eden. The radiance of the extraordinary life forms emitted an intense energy.  I could feel the ripples as if it were ocean waves bouncing against my skin.

I heard voices, in the distance, which grew stronger as I moved ever so cautiously.  Somewhat afraid of a possible encounter, I found a bush to hide behind as I listened intently.  My senses seemed to fine tune into their conversation, and I was astonished.  What I was hearing was so alien to the world I knew.  And, yet, something that I have longed for that I could not help but yell out “I can’t believe it is true!”

I sprang upward in my cot to see several glaring angry faces yelling at me, “shut up!” “Go to sleep idiot!”  The dream was over!  As real as that world may have seemed it was only in my dream.  War and Peace: Are the visions only in our dreams?  Is it possible to have the "room without a roof?"

Thanks, Terry (my ex-husband) for encouraging me to write down my dream and eventually creating the post for today.  It took twenty-eight years for me to articulate my idea... of going to school, learning to be a writer, and posting this story.

If the Shoe Fits, Wear it

Let's go on an epic journey of earthly proportions to a promised land and into the world of fairy tales.  If the shoe fits, wear it!  The Little Glass Slipper (Cinderella) is the shoe I'm talking about here.

There is a passage from The Way of Kabbalah by Z’ev Ben Shimon Halevi that sets the stage for our adventure.
“Stories of glimpses into the promised land abound in world folklore although often in a watered down and distorted form… The tale of Cinderella is another version of natural man’s encounter with the upper worlds and gives a detailed account of the powers and worlds involved. Cinderella, the rightful heiress (or soul) of her father’s house, is made to live in the kitchen (the body) while her stepmother’s (ego’s) ugly daughters (personas) usurp her place. However, with the aid of her fairy godmother (teacher), a pumpkin (the vegetable soul) and some mice (the animal soul) are transformed into a coach and horses (Ezekiel’s Merkabah or chariot) which will convey Cinderella to the ball (the next world). Her rags are changed into a fabulous gown (she shifts from the natural to the supernatural). In this state of Grace she is raised from Asiyyah up into Yezirah, where she meets the prince (spirit of Beriah). After various difficulties with the claims of the ego and the personas, the soul and the spirit are united in marriage, much to the pleasure of the king (Adam Kadmon of Azilut).”
The passage speaks not to a new concept but a timeless tale of raising the consciousness to that place somewhere over the rainbow. You'll discover where the shoe (the little glass slipper) fits on the Tree of Life first.  Secondly, how do you discover if this particular tale fits your path?  What is your calling? Stories abound with analogies to the process of transformation throughout history and cultures.  However, if you're not familiar with this particular fairy tale, here's an overview from Wikipedia.

Cinderella, or The Little Glass Slipper (French: Cendrillon, ou La petite Pantoufle de Verre, Italian: Cenerentola, German: Aschenputtel), is a European folk tale embodying a myth-element of unjust oppression in Histoires ou Contes du temps passé published by Charles Perrault in 1697,[1] and by the Brothers Grimm in their folk tale collection Grimms' Fairy Tales.
Although both the story's title and the character's name change in different languages, in English-language folklore "Cinderella" is the archetypal name. The word "Cinderella" has, by analogy, come to mean one whose attributes were unrecognized or one who unexpectedly achieves recognition or success after a period of obscurity and neglect. The still-popular story of "Cinderella" continues to influence popular culture internationally, lending plot elements, allusions, and tropes to a wide variety of media.
The Aarne–Thompson system classifies Cinderella as "the persecuted heroine". The story of Rhodopis about a Greek slave girl who marries the king of Egypt is considered the earliest known variant of the "Cinderella" story and many variants are known throughout the world.
Plot:
Once upon a time, there was a widower who married a proud and haughty woman as his second wife. She had two daughters, who were equally vain and selfish. By his first wife, he'd had a beautiful young daughter, a girl of unparalleled goodness and sweet temper. The stepmother and her daughters forced the first daughter into servitude, where she was made to work day and night doing menial chores. After the girl's chores were done for the day, she would retire to the barren and cold room given to her and would curl up near the fireplace in an effort to stay warm. She would often arise covered in cinders, giving rise to the mocking nickname "Cinderella". Cinderella bore the abuse patiently and dared not tell her father since his wife controlled him entirely.
One day, the Prince invited all the young ladies in the land to a ball, planning to choose a wife from amongst them. The two stepsisters gleefully planned their wardrobes for the ball and taunted Cinderella by telling her that the maid was not invited to the ball.
As the sisters departed to the ball, Cinderella cried in despair. Her Fairy Godmother magically appeared and immediately began to transform Cinderella from house servant to the young lady she was by birth, all in the effort to get Cinderella to the ball. She turned a pumpkin into a golden carriage, mice into horses, a rat into a coachman, and lizards into footmen. She then turned Cinderella's rags into a beautiful jeweled gown, complete with a delicate pair of glass slippers. The Godmother told her to enjoy the ball but warned that she had to return before midnight when the spells would be broken.
At the ball, the entire court was entranced by Cinderella, especially the Prince. At this first ball, Cinderella remembers to leave before midnight. Back home, Cinderella graciously thanked her Godmother. She then greeted the stepsisters, who had not recognized her earlier and talked of nothing but the beautiful girl at the ball.
Another ball was held the next evening, and Cinderella again attended with her Godmother's help. The Prince had become even more infatuated, and Cinderella, in turn, became so enchanted by him she lost track of time and left only at the final stroke of midnight, losing one of her glass slippers on the steps of the palace in her haste. The Prince chased her, but outside the palace, the guards saw only a simple country girl leave. The Prince pocketed the slipper and vows to find and marry the girl to whom it belonged. Meanwhile, Cinderella kept the other slipper, which did not disappear when the spell was broken.
The Prince tried the slipper on all the women in the kingdom. When the Prince arrives at Cinderella's villa, the stepsisters tried in vain to win over the prince. Cinderella asked if she might try, while the stepsisters taunted her. Naturally, the slipper fitted perfectly, and Cinderella produced the other slipper for good measure. The stepsisters both pleaded for forgiveness, and Cinderella agreed to let bygones be bygones.

Did you happen to notice that the glass slipper was an important plot element in this story?

Since The Way of Kaballah did not elaborate on the missing glass slipper and the prince in search of the owner of the slipper, we're going to drill down a bit deeper.  Let's start with the diagram of the Tree of Life as shown below.  At the bottom of the diagram, in the tenth position, is Malkhut, which relates to the glass slipper in our fairy tale.  Beneath the diagram is a definition of Malkhut from Wikipedia.

Malkuth or Malchut ("kingdom"; ملكوت ;מלכות), or Shekhinah, is the tenth of the sephirot in the Kabbalistic  Tree of Life. It sits at the bottom of the Tree, below Yesod. This sephirah has as a symbol the Bride which relates to the sphere of Tipheret, symbolized by the Bridegroom.
Unlike the other nine sephirot, it is an attribute of God which does not emanate from God directly. Rather it emanates from God's creation—when that creation reflects and evinces God's glory from within itself.
Malkuth means Kingdom. It is associated with the realm of matter/earth and relates to the physical world, the planets, and the solar system. It is important not to think of this sephirah as merely "unspiritual," for even though it is the emanation furthest from the divine source, it is still on the Tree of Life. As the receiving sphere of all the other Sephirot above it, Malkuth gives tangible form to the other emanations. It is the negative node of an electrical circuit. The divine energy comes down and finds its expression in this plane, and our purpose as human beings is to bring that energy back around the circuit again and up the Tree.  (Grounding)
Some occultists have also likened Malkuth to a cosmic filter, which lies above the world of the Qliphoth, or the Tree of Death, the world of chaos which is constructed from the imbalance of the original sephirot in the Tree of Life. For this reason, it is associated with the feet and anus of the human body, the feet connecting the body to Earth, and the anus being the body's "filter" through which waste is excreted, just as Malkuth excretes unbalanced energy into the Qliphoth. Another way to understand this is that when one is sitting, as in a meditative state, it is the anus that makes physical contact with the Earth, whereas when one is standing or walking, it is the feet that come in contact with the Earth or Malkuth.

The highlighted aspects include "the sephirah has as a symbol the Bride, it is associated with the realm of matter/earth, and the feet connecting the body to Earth."  What is not included are other various symbols used to describe Shekhinah such as female, Moon, or rainbow.  As stated in The Essential Kabbalah by Daniel C. Matt, "In Kaballah, Shekhinah becomes a full-fledged She: daughter of Binah (the Divine Mother), the bride of Tif'eret, the feminine half of God."  "...these figures of speech should not be taken literally; they are organic symbols of a spiritual reality beyond normal comprehension."

It is important to note there are only two unions on the Tree of Life.  The upper union between Hokhmah and Binah, called the man and women, king and queen, father and mother, and the lower union between Tiferet and Malkhut called prince and princess, or bride and bridegroom.  The essence of "As above, so below, as within, so without" applies here.

Now, it's not hard to figure why a woman would obsess over shoes, or why the fairly tale Cinderella uses a glass slipper as a plot device.  The reason I asked the question what's your calling is that the word "calling" will assist in the process of discovery. Lynyrd Skynyrd expresses the heart of the matter (if the shoe fits, wear it) in the song What's Your Name - Little Girl.

However, I'm going to show you how to find the path of destiny in numerology, which is derived from your name.  I'll give an example using my name to demonstrate the process.  The number value will then be placed on the tree as shown below.

"The biblical books of Ezekiel, Enoch, and IV Ezra contain mystical revelations of hidden knowledge, including speculation about the mystical import of numbers and letters."

Numerology and the Divine Triangle by Faith Javane and Dusty Bunker are the sources for the above passage and for discovering my path of destiny.

"Your personal numbers are determined by the numbers in your birth date (life lesson) and the letters in your name you are given at birth (and the names by which you are called) to arrive at the numerical vibration of names; each letter in the alphabet is given a number value."  The alphabet contains 26 letters and requires reducing the double digits to one number.  For example, the number 12 is then written as 12/3.  Master numbers such as 11, 22, 33, and 44 are not reduced when determining the total value.

Betsy 2+5+2+1+7 = 17/8     Ann 1+5+5 = 11      Malone 4+1+3+6+5+5 = 24/6

The Joyous

Commentary on the I Ching or Book of Changes

"The West's foremost translator of the I Ching, Richard Wilhelm thought deeply about how contemporary readers could benefit from this ancient work and its perennially valid insights into change and chance.  For him and his son, Hellmut Wilhelm, the Book of Changes represented not just a mysterious book of oracles or an important source of the Taoist and Confucian philosophies. In their hands, it emerges, as it did for C. G. Jung, as a vital key to humanity's age-old collective unconscious."   Understanding the I Ching

The Joyous

In choosing a different approach to viewing art, I allowed the mind to unfold while concentrating on the visual aspects of the hexagram.

The I Ching or Book of Changes is traditionally thought of as a metaphysical philosophy blending Taoism and Confucianism.  Within sixty-for hexagrams of the, I Ching there are sixty-four typical situations one encounters; each having a picture that corresponds to a condition, i.e. winding road lined with trees makes a sharp curve to the right, or like the picturesque image portrayed above that I will be using for my meditation. I will briefly give the commentary for the hexagram fifty-eight which was selected by tossing coins to pick the yin or yang sign for the lines.  (I Ching page 223)

Under “The Judgment,” is a commentary on the lines:

“The Joyous:  Success.

The joyous mood is infectious and therefore brings success.  But joy must be based on steadfastness if it is not to degenerate into uncontrolled mirth.  Truth and strength must dwell in the heart, while gentleness reveals itself in social intercourse.  In this way, one assumes the right attitude toward God and man and achieves something.  Under certain conditions, intimidation without gentleness may achieve something momentarily, but not for all time.  When, on the other hand, the hearts of men are won by friendliness, they are led to take all hardships upon themselves willingly, and if need be, will not shun death itself, so great the power of joy over men.

Under “The Image” is the commentary on the picture:

“Lakes resting one on the other:  The Image of The Joyous.”

“Thus the superior man joins with his friends for discussion and practice.  A lake evaporates upward and thus gradually dries up; but when two lakes are joined, they do not dry up so readily, for one replenishes the other.  It is the same in the field of knowledge.  Knowledge should be a refreshing and vitalizing force.  It becomes so only through stimulating intercourse with congenial friends with whom one holds discussion and practices applications of truths of life.  In this way, learning becomes many-sided and takes on a cheerful lightness, whereas, there is always something ponderous and one-sided about the learning of the self-taught.”  (pages 224-225)

In establishing the common and pertinent information on the background and symbolism, I use two art forms, the lines, and picture, because I have a familiarity with the hexagram and will envision both aspects even if only looking at one.

I will describe the process I will be using in the mediation. I am sitting in front of a coffee table, which is clear except for a candle holder and the picture.  There are three candles with no other light in the house. And there is no noise.  The image is centered in front of me.

After a few seconds of trying to focus my thoughts on the picture, a vivid image emerged from my past.  It is an image of me sitting on a knoll on a warm, breezy day looking down upon a creek.  I recall feeling joyous at that moment, however, lonely too.  I seemed to be in meditation upon the creek in front of me at that time.  Images flash in my mind of different aspects of my life and the theme of loneliness I held during that time.  The feelings were not of sorrow but longing.  I lived very much like a hermit at that time.  I was alone in every way; however, I enjoyed the peace and serenity of nature and felt joyous within.  My energy seemed to flow like the creek, and that was all right.  I smiled to the heavens and took a deep breath.

Once I lost the feeling and image, I began to reflect upon what I had drawn from the past by meditating on the hexagram.  It appeared to be an overview of my life and the changes I had made.  First, by tossing coins, I choose the hexagram about joy and fellowship, and go back, through meditation to a joyous time in my life, but one without fellowship.  I firmly believed during that time in my past; I could gather knowledge from nature alone and lacked faith in humankind’s words.  I did not read books or exchange ideas with others.  However, change and chance moved me forward to a time of enjoying fellowship.  My experience of attending college and participating in various groups brought me joy.

Today, I have the same enthusiasm and joyous feelings as I did when I had communion with nature, but in a very different way.  I interpret the creek as rapids running free and endless, and the lakes flowing into one another as a calm contained reserve.  This feeling shows me that I have learned limits and sharing within society. The fellowship is a way to connect with the collective unconscious. Truly, this brings joy.
