What Inspires You and How Do You Express It?

We all have unique God-given talents to express to the world, and when we’re creating those pent up, negative feelings are hidden inside us transform into a beautiful art form. We celebrate our human abilities when we connect with and appreciate what others have expressed. What inspires you and how do you express it?

How do I express those pent up feelings…you know the pushed aside emotions we all have? Well.. it all started in my teens with a love of words and a desire to create a rhythm with words - a poet in the making.

I recently realized I hadn't written any poems lately…and I need to reconnect with that passion. This particular way of expressing like other avenues of expression is only remarkable to me and may seem like crazy nonsense to some.

With that said, I hope you enjoy the poem I’m sharing with you. I wrote this poem in 1994 for a class assignment - “write a poem about poetry.”

Oh Bird in Flight

Thy beautiful omniscient bird once caged do bring
The soul’s signing from oceans, rivers, and seas
Of emotions that dwell in the placid lake of reality
Oh bird in flight now must need be for you to sing
Of meanings plain and far beyond the well which spring
An order made precise with only a command to please
A legacy to the world of prose as a language to tease
The boundaries and definition of an indefinable thing
To capture the sky in vivid paintings of colorful rhyme
While ever softly whispering sounds of a distant sight
Your nature comes from the dank depths of day and night
Like a mountain of dreams slowly one is forced to climb
Oh, the bird in flight must needs be I understand, I might.

Self Improvement Junkie: Here's the Main Ingredient for Transformation!

A Self Improvement Junkie loves the warm bowl of chicken soup that makes him feel good inside but lacks the main ingredient needed for transformation.

By this, I mean… the “junkie” attends many motivational seminars… reads personal growth books and still, makes few changes. They just enjoy the positive energy, wise words, and connection with others. What’s missing in this soup is the main ingredient!

Don’t misunderstand where I’m coming from

I’ve gained great information, insights, motivation, etc. from seminars I’ve attended and books I’ve read on self-improvement. It’s accelerated my growth! There are thousands of people every day who change due to their participation. And I’ve also noticed during my experience many Self Improvement Junkies.

My inquisitive nature begged the question

Why, do some people get excited, contribute ideas, show enthusiasm, but don’t personally have a transformation? They’re motivated for a while and then go back to more seminars to regain their energy. Why wouldn’t everyone attending these workshops just explode with change and growth? You’ve heard the overwhelmingly convincing pitches. So why do some people go back to their old patterns of thinking and doing?

What’s even worse

…the Self Improvement Junkie may believe a false assumption about them – “of course I can’t change I’m not good enough!” “Maybe something will rub off on me if I hang out with active people.”

The secret recipe is to “know thy self” not just follow others hoping it will rub off or change you somehow. Knowing thyself is not an easy task because it requires above all things the main ingredient - honesty. You must be honest with yourself to assess your strengths, weaknesses, and growth!

Give yourself an amazing gift for the holidays and promise, to be honest!

The Power of Focus: 3 Keys on How You Can "Be a Lucky One"

The Power of Focus: 3 Keys on How You Can “Be a Lucky One.”

Let me start with a short story that expresses my way of being…

Cramped inside a filthy bunker of sandbags holding an M60 machine gun…guarding Iraqi prisoners…I came to the realization that my marriage wasn’t working. I decided I must get a divorce when I return home from Desert Storm. My second thought I must pay off my debts to make that transition. How will I pay off my debts? I must go to Las Vegas and win big! I started telling others of my intentions of going to Las Vegas to win big money - at least $10,000 to pay off my debt.

My first visit to Las Vegas

I went to Las Vegas a few months after returning from the desert! And…it was fantastic with dazzling lights nonstop action and the ring of money in the air. I stood in the doorway of Circus Circus searching the room for the biggest slot machine I could find. I had $100 in dollar coins to win big or go home! My heart was pounding with excitement, and I found a massive slot machine with an enormous lever. I ran for it! I put my money in… and pulled the large lever watched carefully every move the numbers made until I got the numbers 777.

Loud buzzer rings and people stare. What did I win? Millions? The bottom tray fills up with coins. It totaled $3,000. Not exactly the amount I needed. My husband tells me its beginners “luck, ” and I’ll probably lose all my money by the end of the night. My thoughts I did it once I can do it again…and off I go. I’ll only use $100 in dollar coins… win big or go to the hotel room.

Many machines took my dollar coins and spat out a few coins here and there. I’m starting to wear down. Then magic happens I hit the jackpot again…and this time for $7,000. My husband now hovers over me in a frenzy. I declare…time to go to the hotel room and retire for the night. That was my last trip to Las Vegas and our last trip together as we divorced soon.

BA777one (my twitter account) isn’t a secret code. “Be a (777)lucky one” formed from my name (B. A. Malone) reminds me of that moment in time above…a time filled with fear and uncertainty for my future and what happened when I created a plan and stuck with it!

Ooops! I probably went over the word limit for a blog post. You can’t leave yet! You need to see the

3 Keys on How You Can “Be a Lucky One.”
Now don’t get me wrong. I’m not going to advocate running off to Las Vegas or anything like that. This post is about The Power of Focus, and my story will help illustrate the main points.

The 3 Keys are Shift, Determine Your Focus and Zoom In! Take a few minutes to look at the large picture above and look carefully to determine what you see. (You may need to align the image to fill your computer screen) Are you back?

Okay… red roses on a white background aligned in a weird pattern. Great… we can see the obvious.

The picture is a 3D illusion and to discover the image within this film may take several attempts to diverge your eyes. You need to shift your focus from the picture (visible) as if you were looking at a faraway object.

Don’t worry if you can’t see the heart shaped image formed within the picture that is created from the pattern of roses. Most people find it difficult to diverge or shift their focus from the obvious things they see around them to the hidden possibilities. You may even notice the weird patterns that show up in your life without seeing what’s behind them. Remember, they both exist at the same time in the picture!

The Power of Focus 's hard to obtain for most people because intense feelings or thoughts cause most people to rely on old patterns (often called ruts). Good news, the ability to shift your focus during such critical times only takes practice and patience. Once inside the door, it’s time to make a decision on where you want to go or how you want to handle a problem. It’s much easier now that you have a wider view with more possibilities than the old patterns you relied upon over the years. Don’t rush to make a decision like I did. Wow, I could have focused on more money an excellent job…etc. My expectations were limited to a game of chance to “pay off my debt?” Determine your focus well and on exactly what you want to enter that second door.

Finally, the last entry requires zooming in on the object of your attention. Zoom in means figure out the details to accomplish your goal or your dream! Then take action to make a change or achieve your aim.  When you use the three keys, experience the Power of Focus.

The hidden meaning –
Lots of love creates a Big Heart

3rd Dog Script Story

The brand story

is in honor and memory of Tessa, my small Maltese born October 6, 1993, and passed away September 18, 2009.

I was considered the 3rd dog in Tessa’s pack. Her first master was the first dog, Tessa was the second dog, and I was the third dog. No matter what I’d do to gain respect or position in Tessa’s eyes… I was “ the third dog.” So adorable and such a character!  I caved to her demands which were begging for food and sitting on my lap. Although very demanding she brought me joy and contentment.

Tessa had a few quirky personality traits based on her past. She started out in a less than ideal environment thrown into a backyard with two Dobermans to fend for herself. She was about 3 pounds at that time the runt and a spitfire. Not far from being a replica of me….she made me smile with joy at her attitude.

Quite the problem solver

She also liked mischief and got herself into some severe problems. Like the time she discovered chocolate candy on the coffee table and laid in wait for her moment to snatch the candy bars run upstairs and hide them under the bed until nightfall. In the middle of the night, I awoke to a banging noise. It was Tessa banging her water bowl against the metal stairs to get my attention. I soon discovered several empty candy wrappers, piles of vomit everywhere, and Tessa beating her bowl.  She survived that terrible episode eating more candy bars than I could at one time!

Filled with inspiration

She will always be my inspiration and a reminder of love and perfection.

As I emerged in the second half of my journey as a storyteller, launched myself into the world of screenwriting, and left behind a different phase of my life, I also had to let go of my friend…my companion my little spitfire Tessa.

I will forever be the 3rd dog. TM
