The Cobblestone Path

"Come to the edge," he said.  They said, "We are afraid."  "Come to the edge," he said again.  He pushed them... And they flew.
- Guillaume Apollinaire

First, do what is possible, and soon you will find yourself doing the impossible.

- Francis of Assisi

A leader is useless when he acts against the prompting of his own conscience, surrounded as he may be by people holding all kinds of views.  He will drift like an anchorless ship if he has not the inner voice to hold him firm and guide him.
- Gandhi

You may be assured that we won't ever let your words die.  Like the words of our Master, Jesus Christ, they will live in our minds and our hearts and in the souls of black men and white men, brown men and yellow men as long as time shall last.

-Ralph Abernathy

If you walk the Cobblestone Path in fear of falling, you'll begin to stumble along. If you hesitate while in the State of fear, you'll know not where you stand. Thus, you'll create doubt in your heart and hand. However, with your eyes fixed on the light, you'll see the path ahead is clear. Then, standing tall and proud you'll express to the world aloud; we're here!  We're about to leave the wilderness for the Promised Land, my dear.

A Few Good Words

Every great man, every successful man, no matter what field of endeavor, has the magic that lies in these words: every adversity has the seed of an equivalent or greater benefit.
- W. Clement Stone

Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage.
- Anais Nin

Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.
- Theodore Roosevelt

He who loses wealth loses much; he who loses a friend loses more; but he who loses courage loses all.
- Cervantes

The greater danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it.
- Michelangelo

If one advances confidently in the endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with success unexpected in common hours.
- Henry David Thoreau

The more faithfully you listen to the voice within you, the better you will hear what is sounding outside you.
 - Dag Hammarskjold
Upon the edge life is to be enlivened, to open new doors thus comes a cascade of clear vision as eyes widen even more for the cliff hath the greatest view, and like the eagle soars its flight is only given to a few, whereas many stand and peer overhead never they learn but walk among the living dead.
